Your child is the superhero of their very own adventure! A personalised A4 landscape hardcover storybook, illustrated from your photos (or your description) and written in English or Afrikaans.
The story: One sleepy Saturday a shiny gold parcel lands on the doorstep – inside are red superhero capes with your family’s names stitched in gold. WHOOSH! Down flies Captain Protea, a cheerful retired superhero with silver curls and a pink protea on her chest. “Every family has a superhero,” she says, “and today, it’s you!” Your little heroes – plus any grown-ups and the family pet you add – discover their superpowers (a brave heart, kind hands, the loudest whistle in town and the brightest ideas), leap over the sprinkler in super-speed training and fly hand in hand over the rooftops to the giant windmill that makes the town’s electricity. Then a thunderstorm rolls in, Captain Protea flies everyone safely home, and FLICKER, FLICKER… the lights go out. Once the storm has passed, out come the super-torches: your child comforts Rolo, a lost puppy, whistles for his owner Mrs Naidoo from the corner shop, and bravely flies up with Captain Protea to free a branch stuck in the windmill. HEAVE-HO! The windmill spins, the whole town lights up, and a gold star is pinned on every cape. (In the Ages 6–8 book there’s more: a picnic on the water tower, and a shadow-puppet show to cheer up Gogo Mabaso and her friends at the old-age home.) A gentle story about bravery, kindness and helping others – no villains and no fighting, and everyone ends up happy and safe.
