Your child blasts off on their very own space adventure! A personalised A4 landscape hardcover storybook, illustrated from your photos (or your description) and written in English or Afrikaans.
The story: On a clear, starry night on a Karoo farm near Sutherland – home of the giant telescope – a shiny rocket lands softly in the veld. Out steps Commander Zola, a smiling South African astronaut in an orange-and-silver suit, with some worrying news: Twinkle, the littlest star of the Southern Cross, has wandered off and the Cross isn’t whole any more. Your little astronauts – plus any grown-ups and the family pet you add – suit up, press the big launch button and WHOOSH! up they go. They float in zero gravity, spot Africa and South Africa from the rocket window, bounce across the Moon (BOING… BOING!) and zoom past Mars and Saturn’s rings. With the telescope they find Twinkle hiding, dim and shy. A kind hug, a clever idea and a gentle song bring her glow back, and your child carries Twinkle home and lets her go – SPARKLE! – the Southern Cross is whole again. Back in the veld there are shiny star badges for everyone and a sleepy goodnight under the stars. (In the Ages 6–8 book there’s more: a visit to the giant telescope, a star map, Jupiter’s great storm, shooting-star wishes and how sailors use the Southern Cross to find south, plus rooibos and rusks on the blanket.) A gentle, cosy story about curiosity, kindness and helping a friend – nothing scary, and everyone ends up happy and safe.
