Your child dives into their very own under-the-sea adventure! A personalised A4 landscape hardcover storybook, illustrated from your photos (or your description) and written in English or Afrikaans.
The story: On a sunny day at a little beach near Simon’s Town, where giant round boulders line the shore and African penguins waddle past braying “HEE-HAW!”, your child finds a glowing pink shell in the sand. SPLASH! Up pops Marina the mermaid, who invites everyone to visit her home under the sea. Magic bubble helmets go POP! over every head – plus any grown-ups and the family pet you add – and SPLOOSH! in they go. They wave to a shy octopus, zoom along holding on to friendly dolphins’ fins, and meet Pebbles, a fluffy little penguin chick who swam too far and can’t find his way home. With a gentle hug, a long hand-in-hand chain through the swaying kelp forest and a little help from a singing southern right whale, your child carries Pebbles home to the big round rocks – and into a big penguin family hug. On the way they even take a plastic bag out of the sea to keep the animals safe. Then it’s shell necklaces for everyone, a pink-and-gold sunset over False Bay and a sleepy goodnight to Pebbles. (In the Ages 6–8 book there’s more: a galjoen – South Africa’s national fish – a colour-changing octopus, a sleepy Cape fur seal pup, a shy puffadder shyshark, the ocean rules “look, don’t grab, keep the sea clean”, and fish and chips in Kalk Bay on the way home.) A gentle, cosy story about kindness, friendship and caring for the ocean – nothing scary, and everyone ends up happy and safe.
