Your child is the star of their very own fire-station rescue! A personalised A4 landscape hardcover storybook, illustrated from your photos (or your description) and written in English or Afrikaans.
The story: It’s Open Day at the fire station, and Captain Lindiwe, the friendly fire chief, is waiting with shiny red helmets and a big red fire engine called Big Red. Your little rescue heroes – plus any grown-ups and the family pet you add – honk Big Red’s horn, whizz down the fire pole, knock over a row of cones at hose practice and learn the smoke-alarm rule: get low, get out and stay out. Then the station bell goes CLANG! CLANG! Gogo Dlamini’s little kitten, Mielie, is stuck at the top of a purple jacaranda tree. NEE-NAW, off goes Big Red! With a calm, gentle and safe plan where everybody gets a job, your child climbs the ladder with Captain Lindiwe and brings Mielie down safely into a soft blanket. (In the Ages 6–8 book there’s a second rescue too: a muddy puppy called Biltong who needs a ramp to climb out of a ditch.) Back at the station everyone gives Big Red a bubbly wash, and Captain Lindiwe pins a gold Junior Rescue Hero badge on each child. A gentle story about teamwork, safety and kindness – no scary fires, and everyone ends up happy and safe.
